Design your way

Thursday, December 10, 2015

Regardless of the particular discipline where it is applied, good design is always associated with symmetry and consistency. Ever since Renaissance, eye-pleasant and aesthetical architecture has been designed using proper proportion literacy. At the time, architects and artists developed a set of classic arrangement principles which are successfully applied nowadays in the most flourishing design branch, namely web design.

Balancing is the key activity in web design. It requires strong skills, reasoning and efforts, but it leads to wonderful results. The ‘magical power’ of balancing is that it is a generalized rule for all types of design. When applied properly, balancing limits your ideas from going too far and creating an overloaded chaos which cannot satisfy users’ expectations.

Balance stands halfway from absolute moderation, somewhere exactly between a little and a lot-not too bright and not too dark, not too short and not too long. It keeps all of the design features in perfect harmony, predicting exactly what the user wants to achieve.

Some of the broadest questions in web design are related to the usage of squared or rectangular elements. Whether to use them or not? How to use them? How to align them? How to organize and to decorate them? The answers are very individual and depend mostly on the effect you are trying to achieve. The universally applicable truth is that boxed elements are welcomed in web designs and there are many reasons why you should apply them.

The purpose of square blocks

Script & Seal

The main reasons to do this are two. Firstly and most importantly, square blocks help organization. Secondly, square blocks are particular style indicators. They represent the ideal elements to disclose each one of your wishes and needs.

Square elements are used as benchmarks for particular styles. They appear in different colors and forms, but they are always equally associated with classy and stylish design.

Organizing with square blocks

Unlabel

The main question here is how do you want your content to be organized? Do you need a single box or more of them? How much content are you going to place in each of the boxes?

This is exactly where squares become helpful-the first decision is to determine what is too much and what is too little and to achieve balance. We promise that it sounds much more complicated than it looks! You are not expected to be too creative or intuitive-you just need to take some time and think about it.

Summary Blocks divide and expose your content (texts, products, images or blog posts) using magazine-styled layouts. You can find four different types of summary blocks whose common traits are the never-changing design and performance.

Creating a style

Jonathan Patterson

Looking to create a recognizable style using box-elements? There are many design options to choose from. Remember that there is no obligation to use only squares-you can fuse the image with different elements (circles, for instance) or introduce size variations in order to expose a focal point in your design.

Most of the new websites are designed in a way which appears to be secretly following a popular ‘sub-culture’ trend. This trend aims to create an image of personality and individuality.

“Luckily” for designers, the approach towards excellence in web design remains classified information. Success relies strongly on individual creativity, to an extent where it seems art is gaining importance against science. However, displaying content on the web is still a presentation method and there are few ‘strings’ attached to it.

Even the most inspired among designers ought to follow a set of principles for creating eye-pleasant design and ensuring success. We admit it is not a simple task (it takes a serious dose of experience and talent), but once you’ve understood the purpose it will take you no more than few minutes to give your homepage a ‘beauty touch’.

The possibilities to design fascinating, prosperous, usable, important and immersive creative content rely strongly on the influence of square blocks.

The idea is to homogenize web design through the usage of various elements. There are many factors that influence the modification of the entire web experience. Let’s name few of them:
