As Wikipedia defines it, signage refers to the design or use of signs and symbols to communicate a message to a specific group, usually for the purpose of marketing or a kind of advocacy. Signage means any kind of graphic that is used to deliver information to a large group of people. It can show information, direction, identification or safety regulations.
Labeling is not the same with signage, because labels are applied to particular products. Also, there are many frequently used signage conventions, such as pictograms or sign shapes.
