I don’t know about you but I like old-school illustrations a lot because they send a message.
Nowadays most of the illustrations that you see are made just for fun and with no real direction.
In the old days, people didn’t just make illustrations like some designers do today, they were focused from the start on a certain message that the illustration should transmit and made everything possible in their nature to make the illustration interesting and clever.
These old-school surreal illustrations that I want to show to you are made by Alessandro Gottardo, an awarded illustrator whose work has been featuring over time in newspapers like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, TIME, The Economist, and Newsweek.
