Let’s face it – not everyone has the pearly whites they wish they had. You thought you took that perfect picture of you or someone you know, just to be disappointed later when you saw yellow teeth. Don’t worry, we can whiten your teeth without paying $500+ for a professional dentist whitening. In this tutorial, we are showing you how to whiten teeth using Photoshop.
Steps to whiten teeth
1. First of all, open Adobe Photoshop. We are using Adobe Photoshop CS5.5 but this also works on earlier or later versions.
2. Next, Open the image which has yellow teeth. To do that, click on the File >> Open and select the file you want to open. Then click on the Open button.
3. Next, from the toolbox, select Magnetic Lasso Tool and make a selection around the teeth. If lower teeth are showing on the photo, then after selecting upper teeth hold ‘Shift’ and make a selection around lower teeth to add them to the selection.
4. Next, from the menu bar, choose Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue / Saturation.. And click on the OK button.
5. Make sure the Adjustments Panel shows up. If it doesn’t, then from the menu bar, choose Window > Adjustments to show Adjustments Panel.
6. Next, in the Adjustments Panel, select Yellows from the drop down. Then drag the Saturation slider from the middle to the left, which desaturates yellow from the teeth to make those teeth pearly white.
7. Again with Yellows selected, drag the Lightness slider below desaturates slider from the middle to the right – maybe +25 or +30 depending how bright you want. This will brighten teeth. The more you drag the brighter your teeth will be.
