Life Diary App Review – Is it the #1 Free Diary App for Android?

Tuesday, June 2, 2015

Today, we will be reviewing a new free Android diary app called Life Diary. Life diary in essence is the equivalent of your paper diary that you use to jot down your feelings, ideas, thoughts or anything else. However, there are a number of major differences between a paper diary and a diary app, which we will be noting below. Let us look at some of the features of Life Diary and why it is potentially the #1 free diary app for Android.

Ability to categorize and tag

3

Now this is something that a paper diary simply can not do. When you’re trying to look for something that you’ve written down in a paper diary, you’re going to have a really tough time finding it. That’s because in a paper diary you can not simply “search” for words, categories, tags, or emotions. But in Life Diary, you can. Each diary entry can be associated with an unlimited number of categories, such as “Relationships”, “Family”, “Work” and more. Similarly, you can associate unlimited tags with each diary entry, so if you just thought of something that screams “omg!” – you can put a tag just like that and later on find all diary entries with “omg!” tag – just as an example.

Ability to associate emotions with diary entries

So let’s say sometimes you write in your diary because you are sad, and other times because you are happy, and then again when you are angry and so on and so forth. With the free Life Diary app, you can associate a total of 35 emotions with each diary entry by using their emoticons. You can later search your diary entries by emotions – which means you can quickly and extremely easily find all of your diary entries where you felt a certain way.

Powerful search functionality

4

We’ve touched on Life Diary’s ability to categorize and tag entries, as well as associate emotions with diary entries. Life diary app ties this all together with their powerful search functionality. Life Diary app’s search allows you to search your diary entries by date, category, tag, emotion and keywords – giving you 100% control over all of your diary entries. This means you are guaranteed to find any diary entry that you are looking for.

Diary app password lock

Life Diary app comes with a built-in (optional) password lock, which allows you to make Life diary a completely private diary. This is drastically different from a paper diary – where you have to hide and lock your diary inside some drawer, in hopes that nobody will find it – and if someone does, then your diary is no longer private. With the Life diary app, once you password protect your diary, it is locked permanently and only you can access it with your password.

Ability to attach photos and audio recordings to diary entries

2

Once again, Life diary has a major win here over a paper diary. Sure, you can manually insert photos between your paper diary pages, but why should you? With the Life Diary app, you can attach unlimited photos with each diary entry. Moreover, you can attach unlimited audio recordings with each entry. This makes the Life Diary app super flexible in terms of how you want to use it.

Device back-up + Dropbox Sync

5

There are other diary apps in the Google Play store, and some of them take the approach of keeping all of your data on their own server. It’s quite questionable whether your private diary is safe this way. In contrast, Life Diary app keeps all of your data on your own device – so nobody can ever hack a server and steal your data. Moreover, you are not relying on someone’s server to be online for you to access your diary – instead, your diary is always online as long as your phone / tablet is on. But that’s not all. Life diary app allows you to back up your full diary onto either your mobile device or to Dropbox – so you can sync your diary across multiple mobile devices.

Numerous diary customization options

7

Life Diary app comes with a total of 5 built-in themes, 1 of which is even a vampire diary theme (for all of you vampire lovers out there – you know who you are). TheseSo p themes come in black, brown, blue, pink and vampire color schemes. In addition, Life Diary app allows you to customize font styles, colors and sizes for diary entries and titles.

Daily diary reminders

Perhaps you are someone who loves to write in  your diary but you simply can’t remember to do it. With the Life Diary app, you can set reminders for specific days and specific time, so that you get an automatic notification on your mobile device to open the diary and write. This is quite convenient and makes it much easier to keep a diary.

Social diary sharing

6

Some of us want to keep all diary entries private, while others want to share some or all diary entries with friends. Life Diary allows you to share diary entries (including photos) on Facebook and Instagram – so if you are one of those people who love to share everything with all of your friends, then you can do just that by using the Life Diary app.

Flexible diary app

Life Diary is quite flexible in how you can use it. You can use it as a regular personal diary where you write down your thoughts, feelings, ideas and anything else you want. You can also use it as a photo diary – where you document your daily life by taking photos and adding them in diary entries. You can use it a school diary by taking full advantage of Life Diary’s categorization and tag options, creating categories and tags for school subjects. You can also use it as a food diary by taking food photos and adding them to your diary entries. You can use it as a vacation diary by documenting all the places you visit during your time off.
