There are many fonts that are being released by designers because making a font isn’t that difficult. There are even tutorials which guide you step by step and teach you how to create one. Still, most of these fonts aren’t really good at anything.
From the vast collection of fonts that are released or promoted within a 3 months time frame I only find between 30 and 40 free fonts that I can actually use. So creating a font is easy, creating a good font is quite difficult.
To create a good font you have to consider font legibility so that it can be used in various environments without users having a difficulty reading it and also a lot of guidelines and specifications that make a good typeface.
I’m going to stop complaining about the legibility and usefulness of certain fonts and I’ll encourage you to try some of these that I’ve selected and added to the article that you are reading.
