Let’s be honest: will you give a second chance to a website that has a page that is inaccessible? Mostly not. You don’t have time for these when the Internet is offering tons of other alternatives. If you are a website owner this fact won’t be good news…anyway, I doubt that someone that owns a website is not aware about this. The first action you will take is to assure that all the links are functional and in the future, you will constantly check these. But what should you do when the user doesn’t write the correct address? Well… if there is a recipe I won’t tell you and clearly by applying it my income will grow instantly… yep, there are is no perfect strategy!!!
A solution to make people think twice when leaving your website is to make them smile. Humor has a great potential. Another solution is to make them curious, it really works! In conclusion, the designers created a nice solution when, from various reasons, a web page can’t be accessed: a great 404 page!
If you aren’t used with this term, don’t worry! It designates the situation where a link is broken, the respective address you are searching for can’t be visited or it doesn’t exist. Anyway, the idea is that usually, you receive a boring message that the webpage doesn’t exist. Some website owners though in advance and created a special page that let the user know that there is a mistake…the way how they do is presented bellow, I hope to enjoy all of them.
