Photoshop is the most used way of creating photo manipulations these days, but things haven’t always been like this. Some people may not believe this but photo manipulations have been made since the beginning of the photo industry. After all, it’s not called photo manipulation for nothing. To create such beautiful things in the traditional way you can use various techniques like multiple exposure, taking two or more negatives, photo montage, overpainting and retouching on the negative for print.
In this article I want to show you the work of a contemporary artist, rather than the one of classics. It’s part of Thomas Barbey‘s work, a guy who creates impressive photo manipulations without turning his attention to Photoshop.
